Your Past Doesn't Get to Run Today
Without the Weight
EMDR and CBT for chronic anxiety, trauma, and overwhelm throughout California

Nothing Is Wrong, and You're Still Wound Tight
Your shoulders have been up around your ears since breakfast, and nothing has actually happened.
You snap at your partner over the dishwasher. Your kid tells you about their day and you’re nodding without hearing a word of it.
At 11 at night, you’re still replaying a conversation from 3 in the afternoon.
You’re exhausted by days that ask nothing of you and take everything.
- You learned early to keep it contained. Handle it, hold it, don't make it anyone else's problem.
- For years, bottling emotions worked.
- You've read the books. You know exactly where it started.
- And the pressure still finds its way out sideways: the short fuse, the restless sleep, the conversations you rewrite at midnight.

Insight got you this far.

The change shows up first in the small moments.
Why Your Anxiety Still Answers to Something Older
Some memories never finish processing. Your body keeps answering them in the present tense, on days that have nothing to do with them.
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to help your brain finish that work, without narrating every detail out loud.
Alongside it, CBT handles the thinking that runs all day, while EMDR reaches what sits underneath.
When a memory finishes processing, there’s less left in you to contain.
Bracing
becomes
Breathing.
Take Back the Days You've Been Pushing Through
- Mornings that begin without your jaw already set
- A pause between what someone says and how you answer
- Sleep that comes when you do
- Presence for the story your kid is telling you
- Room to say what you feel before it builds into pressure
How We Get You Ready Before We Go Deep
Book a Free Consultation
A brief 15-minute video or phone call. We talk about what's happening and whether EMDR is an option.
You'll know if this fits before you commit to anything.
Create Your Safety Blueprint
We map out your history at a gentle, comfortable pace, so you feel grounded and equipped with practical coping tools before any reprocessing starts.
You walk into the deep work already holding what steadies you.
Begin Deep Healing
We clear the root triggers underneath the anxiety, regulate the emotional responses that fire without warning, and move you forward with grounded confidence.
You get to feel things as they come, instead of storing them.
Two Approaches, Two Depths
Trained in EMDR and working toward certification, I pair it with CBT so the thinking that runs all day and the memories underneath it get worked at once.
Preparation Comes Before Processing
No one starts reprocessing with me before we build your Safety Blueprint, so you go into the hard part already holding tools that work between sessions.
Progress, Not Perfection
I say that out loud with clients, because what we're after is a life that runs easier day to day, not a flawless one.

Hi, I'm Kayla.
I’m deeply passionate about this work and committed to helping you better understand yourself and move toward the life you want.
Creating a space where you feel comfortable opening up is essential to me.
I bring an easygoing, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach to our work together.
I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Azusa Pacific University and have been privileged to work with individuals and families across various settings for over 10 years.
My approach is built on warmth, authenticity, and directness.
I don’t just sit and listen; I am an active participant, offering gentle challenges, reflective observations, and practical guidance.
What if there's no single trauma I can point to?
That’s common with chronic anxiety, and EMDR still applies. We work with the everyday moments that taught your body to stay ready, not only the ones that would make a headline.
I've already researched EMDR. How do I choose a therapist?
Ask how they prepare you. Plenty of clinicians run the protocol, and the difference shows up in how much groundwork happens before the first reprocessing session.
How long does this usually take?
When clients ask me how long EMDR will take, I never give them a time frame to set up unrealistic expectations. Instead, I tell them that “every person is different and every brain processes differently so it is really impossible for me to give you an estimate of how long it will take. What I will tell you is that sessions will always be intentional and productive in moving you towards your goals. With EMDR, it is more important for you to feel safe in and outside of session, even if that might take some time to establish rather than rush through. However, there will be intention in working through material as fast as we can as soon as it is safe to do so, allowing you to experience the life change you are looking for as soon as possible.”
What if I've held it in too long to let go?
Then we go slower, and that’s no setback. Bottling emotions kept you functioning for a long time, and you get to set the pace at which you put it down.
