In a busy world, many of us rarely stop to reflect on what we’re thinking or feeling.
Life becomes constant motion – go, go, go – and sometimes that feels easier than confronting what’s really going on inside.
But ignoring internal struggles is like ignoring an infection. Without attention, it only gets worse.
Caring for your mental health is just as important as eating well and exercising for your physical health. We all have mental health, and we all need to take care of it.
No matter who you are, you can benefit from good therapy.
Many clients tell me, “I wish I had done this sooner,” or “Why didn’t anyone teach this in school?”
Learning how to identify, validate, and manage emotions is essential to living a balanced life. Like pruning a tree, these skills help create space for a fuller, healthier life to grow.
There is deeper work that is important too, root work.
We all go through experiences in our lives that teach us something about ourselves and the world around us. These beliefs, shaped by our life experiences, can sometimes keep us from realizing our full potential.
Therapy (specifically EMDR) can help us understand where these root beliefs come from and how to challenge and shift them so they no longer negatively impact our present lives. Your past experiences no longer need to trigger intense emotions every time you think about them.
You can learn to feel safe down to your bones and truly believe “I will be okay.”
Rising Pines is a small family business founded on the mission of providing compassionate and competent counseling services to our community.
Our name, Rising Pines, evokes powerful imagery of growth, reaching from the ground toward the sky.
Like the pinecone that must open to release new seeds, sometimes requiring the intensity of a fire for the tallest trees to grow, we believe growth often comes through adversity. Engaging with tension and discomfort is frequently the necessary path to true development. By moving through difficulty, you emerge stronger than you ever imagined.
Whether you interact with our therapists, receptionists, or billing staff, our promise to you is that you will always be treated with the utmost respect and care.
My journey to becoming a licensed therapist was fueled by a deep belief in the power of finding support from a professional. I’ve been to therapy and have experienced the power of talk therapy and EMDR therapy to change me for the better.
I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Azusa Pacific University and have been privileged to work with individuals and families across various settings for over 10 years.
Through working in schools, hospitals, and community mental health, I have found my true passion is meeting with clients in a private practice setting and going deep to understand their stories.
My approach is built on warmth, authenticity, and directness.
While I deeply respect the therapeutic process, I believe healing also requires a genuine, human connection. I don’t just sit and listen; I am an active participant, offering gentle challenges, reflective observations, and practical guidance.
I often spend time outdoors. I love camping and hiking with my family and dog, or traveling abroad to experience different cultures. This helps me stay grounded and reminds me that balance is a continuous practice, not a perfect destination.
I look forward to connecting with you and exploring how we can work together to help you move from surviving to truly thriving.
